Epoxy Coated Rebars
The use of Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coated Reinforcing Steel as the primary system to prevent early deterioration and premature failure of steel reinforced concrete is growing and is widely recognised as the most reliable and cost effective system available.
The cost of the coating is only a small fraction of the total cost of reinforced concrete structures yet it has proven to be a major means of assuring long term protection for reinforcement in concrete. Most major users recognise the importance of structures meeting their life and are increasingly relying on the system to provide protection for reinforcement.
Concrete structures reinforced with epoxy-coated bars require minimum maintenance, therefore, the initial investment pales in comparison to the savings gained in the long term. There is also minimum interference or disruption to the use of the structure - particularly important for commercial industrial buildings and any other structures serving the general population.
